It taught the regeneration of marrows to the monks of the monastery of Shaolin (small forest) to improve their health and to return them less materialists. Thereafter, of many alternatives were invented by Buddhists and taoists.

- increase in the original vital gasoline (Jing). - purification of marrows.
- improvement of the quality of blood. - improvement of the concentration.
- spiritual awakening. - improvement of the various directions.

Four marrows

The definite tradition 4 marrows which exert complementary energy functions:
- the marrow of the bones. - spinal cord. - the brain. - kidneys.
4 marrows are controlled by the points Sui Hai (sea of marrows = 39 gall bladder, Xuan Zhong, 3 cun with the top of the external maléoles, on the former edge of the fibula) whose toning up makes it possible to fight against ageing, to increase potential longevity and to invigorate the brain in order to preserve all its faculties to him.

The energy conversion

“San Bao”, three treasures
Chi Kung of marrows, carries out a transformation of energies into three stages such as it is sought by the practices taoist:

- Jing (original energy) is transformed into Chi (vital energy).

In the kidneys is to store an energy gasoline, Jing (to pronounce “djing”). It is the energy which the man receive with his birth (in fact at the time of the design). It is its fundamental gasoline, its source of vitality, its will of survival. It is also called ancestral energy, because it is transmitted parents to children and consequently carries the traces of our ancestors. For the Chinese, his material demonstration is sexual energy, which implies that the sexual continence or the control of the sexual instincts makes available this energy for other activities and amongst other things to transform it by stage successive into Hsu. Jing it is also a piece of universal energy which connects to us with the whole and which makes it possible the man to turn over to his source by the respiratory meditation and exercises. Yang Jing is the economic management of this energy and its increase. By breathing and the assimilation, Jing combined with cosmic energy (air, food) becomes Chi which is the second stage of the process of transformation. The quality of Chi thus depends on the quantity of Jing and the quantity and quality of cosmic energy brought.

- Chi tranforme in Shen (spiritual energy or conscience).

Chi, it is the interior breath, energy specific to the alive being. By abdominal breathing, Chi is sublimated, appears then the third energy chain link, Shen, spiritual energy. Since the Tan Tien lower (in the abdomen) Shen rises along the spinal column to the Tan higher Tien, in the head, or it then operates an awakening of the ordinary conscience (Shih Shen) appeared with the birth which becomes the spiritual conscience (Yuan Shen) which is former to the birth and makes it possible the man to communicate with the force of the universe (Bond Chi Hua Shen). This second stage of transformation marks the beginning of the control, the beginning of the awakening of the conscience with a vaster reality.

- Shen is transformed into Hsu (vacuity).

It is the ultimate stage of the transformation and the control of energy. By this last stage, the man absorbs the spirit to turn over to the vacuum (Bond Shen Fu Hsu). This vacuum, it is the non-being, the primary education state of the spirit not differentiated (before the birth), the state of dissolution of Ego in the cosmic force. This stage is not death or disappearance, it is controlled and carried out in all conscience. The wise one does nothing any more but one with the universe. It is identified with the CAT, its power and its potential is as unlimited as are to it those of the universe. Such is the ultimate goal of the practice of Chi Kung, which after having brought health and balance, made it possible to develop the conscience and the potential for finally reaching the total control of energy.
